Артур Александрович Бетлинг (Arthur Heinrich Boehtlingk; 31 мая 1849, Санкт-Петербург – 31 ноября 1929, Засбах (Германия) – доктор философии, профессор истории Йенского университета.

Биография

Родился в семье оптового торговца Александра Николаевича Бетлинга и Софии Каролины Блессиг, в Санкт-Петербурге. Учился на гимназическом отделении Петришуле только один год с 1858 года по 1859 год. С 1859 года был зачислен в гимназию Видемана. Изучал философию в Йене, с 1869 в Гейдельберге.

Умер и похоронен в 1929 году в городке Засбах, земля Баден-Вюртемберг.

From 1886 he taught as history and literature professor at Karlsruhe. Arthur Böhtlingk studied in Jena, Heidelberg and Berlin. In 1876 he qualified as a professor in Jena. Ten years later, Professor Dr. Böhtlingk as professor of history and literature at the University of Technology called to Karlsruhe. There he organized the first literary reading evenings . [1] In 1901, he supported an outgoing call from the students' protest rally against the British war in South Africa ". [1]Life and work Böhtlingk wrote in part about Napoleon Bonaparte , the poet William Shakespeare, monasteries in Baden , the Rastatt Sent murder , Carl Friedrich Nebenius andOtto von Bismarck . Several of his writings appeared in Frankfurt in the local New Frankfurt publisher , some of his work was also published in Karlsruhe (-> see below). In Karlsruhe professor Böhtlingk lived in Leopold Street . [2] Professor Arthur Böhtlingk died on 15 November 1929 at the age of 80 years. His estate is located in Karlsruhe in Baden State Library .
